After Diversity Maximum Demand for Sub-Divisions

It is mandatory to determine the maximum demand for an installation to ensure correct selection of cable size for consumer mains, sub mains and final sub circuits. Appendix C in AS/NZS 3000 provides guidance in the determination of the maximum demand.

In addition to this, the WA Electrical Requirements outlines the minimum requirements for consumer’s mains.

Voltage rise should also be considered if a PV system is to be installed - refer to WADCM 15.12.3 and AS/NZS 4777.1:2016 clause 3.3.3. These requirements are mandatory for determining the cabling requirements for an installation.

When making an application for supply to a subdivision, Western Power provides a calculator to determine the subdivision's maximum demand. Click here to access this calculator.

It should be noted that this calculator should only be used for supply application purposes and must not be used for the maximum demand of the installation.
